CARDEX (Heart)
An effective heart tonic. It has ACE inhibitor properties, antioxidant properties, and relaxes the heart. It potentates the action of cardiac glycosides. There is mild diuretic action, however a diuretic may need to be added for cases of congestive heart failure. Not to be used with ACE inhibitors such as captopril, enalapril, or benazapril.

Hawthorn Berries:
• Increases enzyme metabolism in the heart muscle leading to better coronary health

• Is effective in causing immediate relaxation and expansion of the contracted parts of the respiratory system; allowing oxygenated

• Mildly stimulating to the heart

• A toner for cardiac problems

Use Vitamin E for its antioxidant properties. For a cat 300 IU/day, a dog 400 IU/day. Our herbal extract GINGKO is an excellent support for the CARDEX, especially for older pets. Most pet owners would give a maintenance dose.
Paws for Thought:
Definitely consult your veterinarian if there is any suspicion of heart disease. If your breed of pet has a history of heart problems the CARDEX is an excellent daily supplement for the diet. Some signs of heart disease: Coughing, usually at night or upon rising, wheezing and shortness of breath, pot belly or swollen limbs, lack of energy and unusual sleeping, loss of appetite, fainting or stumbling.
